Sample Required:
3–6 mL whole blood in EDTA tube at 2–8°C
Test Time:
Sample: 5 minutes. Report: 8–12 working days.
Test Normal Range:
No fixed normal range.
What is the Test?
An NGS-based hereditary test detecting BRCA1/2 mutations associated with hereditary breast, ovarian, prostate, and pancreatic cancer risk.
Test Procedure:
DNA is extracted from blood and sequenced for BRCA1/2 variants.
When to Take the Test:
When evaluating hereditary cancer risk or planning preventive/targeted therapy.
Who Should Take This Test:
Individuals with personal or family history suggestive of BRCA-associated cancers.
Precautions for Exceptional Cases (Pregnancy, etc.):
Fasting preferred 4–6 hours (not mandatory). Maintain 24-hour gap after chemo/PET/CT/radiation; avoid blood draw within 24 hours after transfusion; provide previous reports; submit signed consent; disclose pregnancy.
