What is the Test?
A germline panel detecting mutations (e.g., CDKN2A) that increase melanoma risk.
Test Procedure:
Blood DNA is sequenced for melanoma predisposition genes.
When to Take the Test:
When melanoma is recurrent, early, or clustered.
Who Should Take This Test:
Patients with multiple atypical nevi or melanoma family history.
Precautions for Exceptional Cases (Pregnancy, etc.):
Blood sample precautions: fasting preferred, 24 hr post chemo, avoid transfusion window, consent required.
