No normal range; TMB is reported as mutations per megabase
What is the Test?
This test evaluates circulating tumor DNA and calculates tumor mutation burden (TMB), helpful in immunotherapy decision-making.
Test Procedure:
Blood is collected into Streck tubes and processed using NGS to quantify mutation burden.
When to Take the Test:
When immunotherapy is being considered, or when tissue TMB is unavailable.
Who Should Take This Test:
Patients with solid tumors where TMB influences therapy planning.
Precautions for Exceptional Cases (Pregnancy, etc.):
Inform clinician if pregnant; avoid sample within 24 hours of radiation, chemo, or transfusion.
