No normal range; result specifies presence of PIK3CA mutations
What is the Test?
This test evaluates circulating tumor DNA to detect PIK3CA mutations, important in cancers such as breast cancer.
Test Procedure:
Blood is drawn into a Streck tube, and NGS is performed to identify PIK3CA variants.
When to Take the Test:
When PIK3CA mutation status is required to guide treatment decisions.
Who Should Take This Test:
Patients diagnosed with cancers in which PIK3CA mutations influence therapy.
Precautions for Exceptional Cases (Pregnancy, etc.):
Avoid sampling soon after chemotherapy; disclose if pregnant or on immunosuppressive therapy.
