For this test, no blood samples are required. Ultrasound imaging, also known as ultrasonography, uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the inside of the body.<\/span><\/p>\n

The test time for ULTRASONOGRAPHY \u2013 PVR can vary but typically takes around 15 to 30 minutes to complete.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ultrasound tests, including PVR (Post-Void Residual) measurements, do not have traditional “normal ranges” like blood tests. Instead, they provide images and measurements that healthcare providers use to assess various aspects of your internal organs.<\/span><\/p>\n

ULTRASONOGRAPHY \u2013 PVR (Post-Void Residual): This is an ultrasound examination of the urinary bladder and its contents after the patient has voided (emptied their bladder) and then measures the amount of urine left in the bladder. It’s used to evaluate bladder function and to check for issues like urinary retention.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the procedure, you will be asked to empty your bladder completely (void urine). Afterward, a trained sonographer will use a handheld ultrasound device (transducer) on your lower abdomen to obtain images of your bladder and measure the remaining urine volume.<\/span><\/p>\n

ULTRASONOGRAPHY \u2013 PVR is typically performed when a healthcare provider suspects urinary problems, such as difficulty emptying the bladder completely or frequent urinary tract infections.<\/span><\/p>\n
